Why Jihui Hao Is Running for the UICC Board

In his candidate statement, Prof. Hao highlighted his experience with CACA and his interest in strengthening connections between China’s cancer research and clinical networks and the international cancer community.

“I seek to join the UICC Board to bridge China’s vast clinical and research network with global strategies, fostering international collaboration in precision oncology, cancer centre management, and access to innovation.”

He said his experience in institutional governance, translational research, and national guideline development could contribute to UICC’s global capacity-building efforts, particularly in low- and middle-income settings.

Prof. Hao also identified strengthening cancer institutions and health systems as key areas where he hopes to contribute.

“My goal is to cultivate global-minded medical talents, and contribute to human health.”

Through CACA, he has also participated in international symposia and shared clinical data initiatives, providing opportunities for collaboration between Chinese oncology institutions and international partners.

Strengthening Cancer Institutions and Health Systems

Prof. Hao’s candidacy brings a focus on cancer centre management, quality control, workforce development, and the translation of research into clinical practice.

His proposed contribution also includes connecting institutional experience and scientific expertise with UICC’s broader global cancer-control priorities.

Precision Oncology and International Collaboration
