Dana-Farber Cancer Institute shared on LinkedIn:
“Our Pediatric Low-Grade Glioma Program is proud to partner with the Richi Foundation and Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ) on Richi pLGG Cure, a new transatlantic initiative to support children and families affected by pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGG).
PLGGs are the most common brain tumors in children, with thousands diagnosed globally each year.
Unfortunately, PLGG patients face severe long-term impacts from both tumor growth and the intensive therapies currently available to treat them.
Designed as a global collaborative effort, Richi pLGG Cure unites the Richi Foundation’s family-centered programs with world-leading pediatric oncology institutions in the United States and Europe.
‘With Richi’s pLGG Cure, the Richi Foundation formally unites two globally preeminent programs focused on pLGGs – linking science performed in Boston at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and in Germany at the Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ).
We strongly believe that the fastest path to curative and non-toxic treatments is collaborative science across the world, hand-in-hand with patient families and advocates.
We are on this mission together and will not stop until we can offer the chance of a cure without long-term side effects for every child diagnosed with a low-grade glioma.’ – Pratiti (Mimi) Bandopadhayay.
