Humaid Al-Shamsi, CEO of Burjeel Cancer Institute and Chairman of Nexomic, shared on LinkedIn:
“6th Sep 2020 / 6th Sep 2026
Six years ago, on September 6, 2020, I joined Burjeel Holdings with a vision to help transform cancer care in the UAE.
Today, I am proud of what we have built together:
The UAE’s most comprehensive cancer care networks, the country’s first ESMO-accredited cancer center, first dedicated Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Center, and first pediatric bone marrow transplant center – where dozens of children have received life-saving treatment here at home in the UAE.
We also introduced the first hepatic artery infusion pump program in the MENA region, achieved a record number of research publications from a single UAE center, and provided thousands of free consultations to patients across the GCC and the MENA region.
These are more than milestones. They represent lives changed, families supported, and advanced cancer care brought closer to our communities.
Thank you Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil for your exceptional support and trust , also the entire Burjeel Holdings leadership for their suppprt and believe in me and my vision.
My gratitude goes to my exceptional teams at Burjeel Cancer Institute | BCI and Burjeel Holdings for making this journey possible.
Our ambition remains clear: to keep advancing cancer care, expanding access, and serving our nation with excellence and compassion.
Grateful to Allah and all his blessing and suppprt; Alhamdulillah for six years of progress. The journey will continue inshalla.”
